머리의 뒤통수가 있는 쪽의 팔과 다리는 오므리고 그 반대 쪽, 즉 턱이 있는 쪽 팔과 다리를 뻗쳐서 마치 펜싱을 하는 자세를 취하는 원시 반사를 긴장성 경반사라 한다.

이 반사는 생후 2주경 나타나기 시작해서 생후 6~8개월경 자연히 없어진다.

요즘 경기란 말은 잘 쓰지 않는 말입니다.
열이 나는 감염병을 앓을 때 열로 생기는 경련을 열성 경련 또는 열경련 이라고 합니다.
아기 자녀에게 열도 나지 않고 “깜짝깜짝 놀래는” 증상 징후가 나타나기 때문에 열성 경련은 아니라고 생각합니다.
나서부터 3~4개월경 까지 신생아들과 영아들에게 나타나는 원시 반사–모로 반사, 긴장성 경반사, 파악 반사 등이 정상으로 나타날 수 있습니다.
모로 반사는 아기의 어깨와 몸통을 손으로 받치고 머리를 갑자기 뒤로 떨어트릴 때 가장 잘 나타납니다.
아기가 큰 소리를 들을 때. 그 외 다른 자극을 받을 때, 다른 사람의 몸에 아기 몸이 갑자기 접촉될 때, 그 외 다른 이유로도 나타날 수 있습니다.
마치 만세를 부르는 자세를 취하는 것처럼 연속적 몸 움직임이 생깁니다. 즉 양팔을 양 옆 위로 갑자기 활짝 폈다가, 폈던 양팔을 다시 원자세로 가져오는 현상이 생깁니다.
모로 반사는 하루에도 여러 번 나타날 수 있고 어떤 신생아나 영아는 다른 아기들보다 더 자주 나타내고, 또 어떤 아기들에게는 덜 나타나기도 합니다.
모로 반사는 생후 3~4개월경 자연히 없어집니다.
때로는 모로 반사와 더불어 파악 반사도 같이 나타날 수 있습니다.
파악 반사는 아기의 손바닥에 엄마의 손가락 등이 닿으면 닿는 손가락 등을 꼭 붙드는 행동을 하는 원시 반사의 일종입니다.
아마도 아기가 엄마로부터 떨어지지 않게 엄마를 붙들 수 있는 원시 반사이고 타고날 때부터 갖고 태어납니다. 이 반사는 생후 3~4월경에 자연히 없어집니다.

아기가 자주 깜짝깜짝 놀라서요~

비슷한 질문을 자주 받습니다.
이런 질문을 미국에서 소아과 진료를 하는 동안 한 번도 받은 적이 없습니다.
병원 신생아실에서는 신생아를 포대기 등으로 몸통과 팔다리를 꼬–옥 싸주는 것이 보통입니다. 그렇게 해서 아기를 돌보면 모로 반사나 긴장성 경반사 등이 잘 생기지 않습니다. 그러나 아기를 꼭 싸주었던 포대기를 벗기고 아기를 알몸으로 진찰하면 아기가 양손을 몸통 밖으로 벌리면서 때로는 소리도 내고 눈을 두리번거리는 모로 반사를 나타내는 것을 볼 수 있습니다.
아기에게 모로 반사가 나타날 때도 아기가 마치 경기를 하는 것 같이 보이는 것 같습니다.
여기서 경기라는 용어가 무엇을 의미하는지 확실치 않습니다.

주위 어른들 말로 이러다 경기하면 큰일 난다고 하시는 걸 보면 아직 경기까지의 증상징후는 아닌거 같기도 하구요..

경기와 경련은 동의는 아니만 경기 대신 경련이란 말을 쓰겠습니다. 아기는

경련을 하는 것 같지는 않습니다.

귀가 조금 뚫어지긴 한 거 같은데.. 꼭 소리에 놀라는 건 아니구요. 혼자 가만히 놀다가 눈이 커지면서 깜짝 놀라서 웁니다. 특히 손발을 주체를 못하고 있을 때요…(버둥댄다고 해야 하나??)

옆에 제가 있다가 보고 깜짝 놀랄 때가 많습니다. 그럴 때 먹는 약이 있다고는 하는데..처방 받아서 먹여야 하는 거겠지요? 이런 게 경기인지 궁금합니다.

저는 경기란 말 대신 경련이란 말을 쓰고 싶습니다. 경련을 하는지 알아야 하고, 경련을 하면
그 경련의 원인이 무엇인지 알아야 합니다.
경련의 원인은 뇌손상, 뇌종양 등 여러 가지의 원인이 있습니다. 그 원인을 알아서 원인에 따라 치료해야 합니다.
깜짝 놀라는 것이 모로 반사 등 원시 반사로 생기는 것 같습니다.
모로 반사는 자연적으로 정상적으로 생기는 원시 반사입니다. 약물로 치료할 필요가 없습니까.
졸려서 하품하면 하품을 못하게 약물로 치료하지 않는 것과 같습니다.
경련하는 것 같으면 혈중 전해질 농도, 포도당 농도, 뇌 MRI, 뇌파 등을 검사해서 진단하고 그 진단 결과에 따라 치료해야 합니다.
모로 반사로 그런 증상 징후가 나타난다고 진단이 나면 아기를 포대기 등으로 폭신하게 싸주면 아마 그런 증상 징후가 덜 생길 것입니다.
앞으로 1~2개월이 지나가면 그런 증상징후가 더 이상 생기지 않을 것입니다.

태어날 때부터 기르기가 쉬운 아기들도 있고 기르기가 좀 더 어려운 아기들도 있습니다.
아마 아기가 태어날 때부터 좀 더 예민해 모로 반사가 더 자주 나타나는 것 같습니다.
아기에게 영아산통이 조금 있는 것 같습니다.

우유를 마신 수유모의 모유를 먹는 아기에게 아토피 피부염의 증상 징후 등이 생길 수 있습니다.
젖 먹이는 아기의 엄마가 우유를 마시면 그 젖을 먹는 아기에게 아토피 피부염이 생길 가능성은 더 높습니다. 그렇습니다. 때로는 그 모유를 먹는 아기에게 영아 산통도 생기고 아기가 예민해질 수 있습니다.

The primordial reflex in which the arms and legs on the occipital side of the head are closed and the opposite side, that is, the arms and legs on the chin side, to assume a fencing posture is called the tonic neck reflex.

This reflex begins to appear around 2 weeks of age and disappears spontaneously around 6-8 months of age.

This reflex is a normally occurring primitive reflex. However, some parents find their baby startled when this reflex occurs.
